Why Trusting a GMC Service Center Keeps Your Vehicle Running Its Best

Owning a GMC comes with a commitment to quality, and maintaining that quality means choosing the right place for service. Whether you drive a Sierra, Yukon, Terrain, or Acadia, keeping up with routine maintenance and repairs at a dedicated GMC Service Center makes a real difference in how your vehicle performs over time. For drivers in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, having access to trained technicians who know your vehicle inside and out is a valuable resource worth using. more Read the rest of this entry What Sets a GMC Service Center Apart A GMC Service Center is not just a generic repair shop. Technicians at a dedicated center are trained specifically on GMC vehicles, which means they understand the engineering, technology, and performance standards built into every model. From the Sierra HD's heavy-duty components to the Terrain's turbocharged engine, each vehicle in the GMC lineup has specific service requirements. Having the right expertise behind the work gives you confidence that things are done correctly the first time. These centers also use GM Genuine Parts, which are designed and tested to meet the same standards as the original components in your vehicle. Using the right parts matters, especially when maintaining safety features, drivetrain components, or technology systems. Common Services You Can Count On A GMC Service Center handles far more than just oil changes. Routine maintenance like tire rotations, brake inspections, fluid checks, and battery testing all fall within the scope of what certified technicians handle regularly. For GMC truck and SUV owners who rely on their vehicles for towing, hauling, or daily commuting, staying on top of these basics can prevent larger, more costly issues down the road. GM Certified Service also covers more involved repairs, including transmission service, suspension work, air bag system diagnostics, and software updates for infotainment and driver assistance systems. If your vehicle has a recall, a certified center is the right place to get that addressed as well. The Value of GM Certified Service for Your GMC Choosing GM Certified Service means you are working with a team that has access to the latest factory tools and diagnostic equipment. That matters because modern GMC vehicles are equipped with advanced technology - from Super Cruise capability to integrated hotspot connectivity - that requires specialized equipment to service properly. A general repair shop may not have the tools or training to accurately diagnose and resolve issues tied to these systems. Beyond the technical side, GM Certified Service also supports the long-term value of your vehicle. Keeping a documented service history through a certified center can be an asset when it comes time to trade in or sell. It shows potential buyers or dealers that the vehicle was cared for by professionals who met the manufacturer's standards. Staying Ahead With Routine Maintenance One of the most effective ways to protect your investment is simply to stay consistent with scheduled maintenance. GMC recommends following the maintenance schedule outlined in your owner's manual, and a GMC Service Center can help you track what is due and when. Small things - like replacing cabin and engine air filters, checking brake pads, or flushing coolant - can extend the life of your vehicle significantly. For GMC owners throughout Hopkinsville, Kentucky, making service a habit rather than an afterthought keeps your vehicle dependable through every season and every mile. Summer Road Trip Maintenance in 2026: What Every GMC Driver Should Know

Whether you're planning a weekend getaway or a cross-country adventure, summer road trip maintenance in 2026 should be at the top of your to-do list before you hit the highway. A little preparation goes a long way toward keeping you, your passengers, and your GMC running smoothly from start to finish. more Read the rest of this entry Why Pre-Trip Maintenance Matters for Your GMC Skipping routine checks before a long drive can turn a great trip into an unexpected breakdown. Summer road trip maintenance in 2026 is especially important because heat puts added stress on nearly every system in your vehicle - from your tires to your cooling system to your battery. Taking time to address these areas before you leave can save you money, time, and a lot of frustration on the road. Key Systems to Check Before You Go When it comes to summer road trip maintenance in 2026, there are several areas worth a close look. Start with your tires - check the pressure and tread depth, since both can affect handling and fuel efficiency. Hot pavement accelerates tire wear, so don't skip this step. Next, have your battery tested. Extreme heat is actually harder on batteries than cold weather, and the last thing you want is to be stranded in a parking lot in July. Your engine's cooling system is equally critical - make sure coolant levels are correct and that there are no signs of leaks or damage. Don't forget your air conditioning system. A properly working A/C isn't just about comfort; it helps you stay focused and alert during long drives. Wiper blades, brake pads, and fluid levels round out the essentials that deserve attention before any extended trip. GMC Certified Service Has You Covered For drivers throughout Hopkinsville, KY, getting your vehicle professionally inspected before a summer trip is easier than you might think. GMC Certified Service technicians are trained specifically to work on GMC vehicles using genuine GMC parts and approved procedures. That means you're not just getting a generic oil change - you're getting expertise tailored to your specific truck or SUV. GMC Certified Service in Hopkinsville, KY offers a range of services including tire checks, brake inspections, fluid top-offs, battery testing, and more. Whether you're driving a 2026 Sierra 1500, a Yukon, or a Terrain, the team knows your vehicle inside and out. Bringing your GMC in for a pre-trip inspection is one of the smartest investments you can make before heading out this summer. Don't Overlook the Small Stuff Summer road trip maintenance in 2026 also means thinking through the details that are easy to miss. Make sure your spare tire is in good condition and properly inflated. Check that your jack and lug wrench are accessible and functional. Swap out your cabin air filter if it's been a while - a clean filter helps your A/C work more efficiently and keeps the air inside your vehicle fresh. It's also worth reviewing your emergency kit. Jumper cables, a flashlight, a basic first-aid kit, and some water are all worth having on board, especially for remote routes. Schedule Your Service Appointment Today A memorable summer road trip starts long before you pull out of the driveway. By staying on top of summer road trip maintenance in 2026, you'll be setting yourself up for smooth, stress-free miles ahead. If you're ready to get your GMC prepared for the season, stop by and let the team at our GMC Certified Service center in Hopkinsville, KY take care of the details - so all you have to worry about is enjoying the ride. Choosing Between a GMC Canyon or Sierra 1500

Pickup trucks are highly versatile and can accomplish a wide range of tasks. Choosing the right one is an important decision. When it comes to choosing between two trucks built by one of the most accomplished brands in North America, a decision requires careful consideration. The GMC Canyon and Silverado 1500 are two of the finest trucks on the road today. Deciding which one suits you best is why we’re here. more If you’re shopping around and looking at a used GMC for sale, there are various factors to consider. Both trucks can transport materials and facilitate off-roading adventures. They also come with intuitive infotainment screens that keep drivers connected. Depending on what you need a pickup truck for, either the Canyon or Sierra 1500 is up for the task. We’re taking a deep dive into specific tasks that drivers have in front of them and the aspects that they look for when choosing a truck. When you’ve finished reading this, you’ll be able to make a better choice as to which one will suit you best. Powertrain Options One of the hallmarks of the GMC brand is versatility. Many truck drivers look at performance before taking a test drive. The Canyon and Sierra 1500 both have highly capable powertrains that are favored by off-roaders and tradespeople alike. Since 2022, the GMC Sierra 1500 has been available with four engines that facilitate remarkable performance. The engine choices consist of a 2.7L turbocharged I-4, 5.3L and 6.2L V8s, and a 3.0L I-6 turbodiesel engine. Drivers have numerous options available to facilitate their tasks, which we’ll address later. The Canyon, on the other hand, has been equipped with a single powertrain since 2023. The singular option is identical to the turbocharged I-4 available on the Sierra 1500. To get more engine options from the Canyon, you’ll need to find a model built in either 2021 or 2022. Older models were available with either a 2.5L I-4, a 3.6L V6, or a diesel 2.8L I-4. Choosing the right engine makes all the difference. If you’re a driver who enjoys shopping around with more options for performance, you might enjoy the Sierra 1500's options more than the Canyon’s singular powertrain. Occupational Tasks, Towing, and Payload Many drivers rely on pickup trucks for occupational duties. Jobs that involve towing or carrying a sizable payload necessitate a capable truck. The Sierra 1500 and Canyon are both highly capable trucks that offer tradespeople a competitive edge in terms of pulling power. Newer versions of the GMC Canyon might have a single powertrain, but its capabilities are truly remarkable. The Canyon has continually led its class in towing with a maximum rating of 7,700 lbs. The Canyon is ideal for light towing applications that involve recreational activities. For tradespeople who frequently need to haul more weight, the Sierra 1500 offers increased capability. For example, a 2024 Sierra 1500 with the same powertrain it shares with the Canyon can tow up to 9,500 lbs. When properly equipped with the diesel engine, the same truck reaches its maximum tow rating of 13,300 lbs. In addition to increased pulling power, the Sierra 1500 has a higher payload capacity. The highest payload rating of 2,240 lbs can be achieved with the TurboMax I-4 engine. The Canyon is still fairly competent in payload applications, offering a capacity of 1,640 lbs when properly equipped. Each driver is different in terms of what they need to tow. The Canyon is ideally suited for light towing applications related to off-roading or camping. However, for drivers who need more pulling power for the job site or their vocation, the Sierra 1500 is the ideal choice. Daily Driving Capability is one of the defining characteristics of any pickup truck. However, just as important is the daily commute that all drivers face. Any vehicle should be agile on the city streets and allow drivers to go favorable distances while paying less at the pump. One advantage the Canyon has for daily driving is its smaller size. GMC’s midsize truck offers agile performance that can handle the city-driving conditions with relative ease. An aspect to consider about the Canyon is its conservative fuel consumption. The 2024 Canyon with RWD allowed drivers to achieve 19 MPG in the city and 23 MPG on the highway for a combined 20 MPG. The agile performance and conservative fuel economy of the Canyon certainly make it suitable for city drivers. If you do a fair amount of traveling for your vocation, you might want to consider what a Sierra 1500 with the available diesel engine can accomplish. The 2024 diesel Sierra 1500 achieves 23 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway, for a combined fuel economy of 25 MPG. For your daily commute, choosing between the Sierra 1500 and Canyon comes down to what type of driving you do. If you favor agile and economical performance, the Canyon will be a favorable option. The diesel-fueled Sierra 1500 is better suited for drivers who prefer longer intervals between fill-ups. Off-Roading and Adventuring In addition to the performance and pulling power of the pickup truck, many drivers prefer the vehicle as their primary means of embarking on adventures. The Canyon and Sierra are both capable of handling the bumps and bruises that accompany off-roading. Depending on the terrain you enjoy traversing, choosing the right truck is crucial for your next excursion. The Canyon and Sierra 1500 both offer two off-road-ready trims designed for the discerning adventurer, the AT4 and AT4X. Both trims come with special suspensions, skid plates, and all-terrain tires to assist any adventurer. A key difference is the powertrain and the vehicle's size. The Canyon’s off-road-ready trims offer a more agile off-road experience due to the truck’s smaller size. The turbocharged I-4 allows for remarkable performance on the path less traveled. However, the Sierra’s available V8s and diesel I-6 mean having more capability and prowess. Enhanced performance gives you a competitive edge, on and off the pavement. Choosing the ideal truck for adventure depends on where you plan to go. Off-roaders who enjoy treacherous locations with twists and turns can take advantage of the Canyon’s agile handling and use its smaller size to their advantage. For drivers who want more control over their surroundings that a more complex powertrain can provide, a Sierra 1500 will give you an edge over any hostile terrain. Our Final Verdict on Choosing the Right Truck Both vehicles embody the best of what GMC has to offer and have their own unique advantages. In fact, much of the decision comes down to what you need a truck for. If you prefer agile performance in your daily commute or off-roading, a GMC Canyon will suit your needs perfectly. Its 7,700-lb tow rating makes it a great choice for recreational enthusiasts. The Canyon also costs slightly less than the Sierra 1500, something for drivers on a budget to consider. However, if performance and towing capability are your top priorities, the Sierra 1500 is a sure bet. The multiple powertrains, which offer varying degrees of performance and towing capability, make the truck ideal for tradespeople and off-roaders. The added availability of a diesel powertrain will certainly appeal to those who enjoy fuel economy and towing capacity that exceeds expectations. Regardless of what truck you’re interested in, we’ve got one with your name on it. At Patriot GMC, we have used Sierra 1500 and Canyon models. Our experts will help answer your questions and assist you in determining which vehicle is best suited for your needs.

Finding the Right Used GMC SUV for Your Lifestyle

SUVs are the most popular type of vehicle in the US, and with good reason. They offer an elevated driving position, room for cargo and passengers, and adaptability that flows with today’s fast-paced world. However, due to their popularity, there are also numerous options to choose from, which can make the buying process slightly overwhelming. more The good news is that you don’t have to navigate which used GMC for sale is best for your daily driving routine on your own, not with us at Patriot GMC by your side. Our team is well-versed in what GMC SUVs bring to the table, and we take the time to get to know you and your needs so we can offer options that truly fit your lifestyle. You can find our selection online or stop by the dealership today for a closer look. Either way, we are excited to help. For now, please keep reading to see why we think a used GMC SUV is a great option. Exploring GMC’s Lineup of SUVs First and foremost, GMC makes things a bit easier by offering three distinct SUV options. The first and smallest in the lineup is the Terrain, followed by the versatile Acadia. The largest in the group actually comes in two different sizes, the Yukon and the Yukon XL. It is also worth noting that all three offer trim levels that help you further customize your decision, ensuring you truly get what you are looking for. A closer look at each and the trim levels you can choose from, as well as how they might fit your needs, is offered below. The GMC Terrain The GMC Terrain has been a part of the lineup since the 2010 model year; its arrival followed the successful debut of the Acadia. With the introduction of the Terrain, drivers were given the opportunity to choose a smaller, easier-to-maneuver SUV, which was key for navigating traffic and tight city streets. The most recent redesign of the Terrain occurred in 2018, but a facelift for the 2022 model year ensures that pre-owned options on our lot provide you with many of the must-have features you might be looking for. That facelift included things like new exterior styling elements, updated upholstery, and improved technology. It also streamlined powertrain options, making the 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder engine the powertrain of choice. Features to Look For Other amenities you can expect to find when considering one of our pre-owned Terrain options include an easy-to-use infotainment system that allows you to connect a compatible phone to access your favorite apps. Depending on the model year, the size of the screen differs, with more recent years offering a whopping 15-inch display. You will also find that each trim level offers upgrades, such as the in-dash navigation available with the Denali trim or the optional head-up display, which provides real-time data as you navigate from point A to point B. Trim Lineups Speaking of trims, the Terrain’s options have changed since the 2022 facelift, with four trims available during the 2022, 2023, and 2024 model years. Those trim levels are the SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. If you are looking at a pre-owned 2025 model, however, you will notice that only one trim, Elevation, is available. It is worth noting that this trim offers either front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The GMC Terrain hits the sweet spot for a wide range of drivers, including those looking for their first SUV as well as drivers who want a comfortable ride with sophisticated styling for their commute. Of course, that sophistication level bumps up dramatically when choosing the top-tier Denali. Even better, by choosing used, you can enjoy all the bells and whistles for less. If you’re looking for a compact SUV that is well-equipped for both paved and unpaved roads, we suggest checking out the AT4. It offers enhanced off-road capability and standard all-wheel drive, along with unique styling both inside and out, a skid plate, and all-terrain tires. The GMC Acadia In the middle of the GMC SUV lineup is the GMC Acadia. As mentioned, it arrived on the scene just before the Terrain, hitting dealership lots for the 2007 model year. Today, it is in its third generation, which debuted for the 2024 model year. Changes in More Recent Models Some key changes introduced with the newest version include a longer 10.6-inch wheelbase increase and a 3.2-inch height increase. Additionally, the powertrain options were slimmed down to just one—a 2.5L inline-four engine that gives you up to 328 hp and 326 lb-ft of torque. While it’s not the most powerful SUV in the lineup, it does offer the ability to tow up to 5,000 lbs when properly equipped, which is key for outdoor enthusiasts who want to haul an ATV trailer or camper on the weekends. Safety and Driver-Assistance Features Like the Terrain, you will see many of the features you want when looking at the Acadia, even in the models years prior to the redesign. However, if size is a priority, choosing a newer pre-owned option is the smartest path to take. Something else to mention is that the Acadia—and all the SUVs in the GMC lineup—come equipped with a strong list of driver-assist features. These include features such as alerts for changes in traffic flow and braking and steering support when needed. Additionally, it’s worth noting that each of the SUVs in the lineup consistently gets high ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Trim Lineups Additionally, like the Terrain, the trim levels of the Acadia have undergone changes in recent years. For instance, for the 2022 model year, there were four trim levels to choose from: the SLE, SLT, AT4, and Denali. However, the redesign for the 2024 model year changed things up a bit by dropping both the SLE and SLT in favor of the Elevation. Our team can review these trims with you in more detail to help you find the right match. As far as who might choose the Acadia, the answer is just about everyone. The “middle child” of the GMC SUV lineup is highly adaptable, making it a great option for DIYers, families, commuters, adventure seekers, and more. The GMC Yukon and Yukon XL Last but not least are the Yukon X and XL. When exploring this impressive SUV, you will often see the two mixed together, which makes sense as they share many of the same similarities. The main difference, as you might have guessed, is the size. The Yukon XL is about 15 inches longer, which also means that it offers additional cargo space, as well as legroom. Of course, that also means it might be a bit trickier to navigate in tight situations, which is something to consider if you need a full-size SUV but still want to be mindful of maneuverability. Like the other SUVs in the lineup, you will find that the Yukon and Yukon XL also come well-equipped, particularly at the higher levels, but the lower trims aren’t anything to scoff at. This is thanks to the brand’s dedication to ensuring each vehicle it manufactures checks many of the boxes today’s drivers are looking for. The Denali and AT4 Trims When looking at our pre-owned options, it’s important to note that the latest version of the SUV debuted for the 2021 model year. What that means for you is that most of the options on our lot offer the latest amenities. Breaking that down further, you will find familiar trim level names, from Elevation at the base to the top-tier Denali trim. A notable difference, however, is that the Yukon takes things one step further with both an AT4 Ultimate and Denali Ultimate trim option. Performance and Towing Capabilities Regardless of which you choose, you will have more than enough room for family, friends, and cargo, as well as impressive power and performance thanks to the standard 5.3L V8 found on the Elevation and AT4 or the 6.2L V8 that is found under the hood of the Denali trim. If that’s not enough, you can also opt for the 3.0L turbo-diesel powertrain. Finally, the Yukon and Yukon XL earn the blue ribbon when it comes to towing, with the 5.3L powertrain offering a maximum towing capacity of 8,400 lbs, while the 6.2L gives you the ability to tow up to 8,200 lbs. Choosing the turbo-diesel option? Its towing power provides you with a capacity of 8,100 lbs. Check Out a Pre-Owned GMC SUV Today If you are looking for a pre-owned SUV, the GMC lineup is a solid contender. With three great options, each offering many of the latest technological advancements of the last few years, as well as distinct trims that speak to a wide range of drivers, adding either the Terrain, Acadia, or Yukon to your “must see” list makes sense. If you’re ready to take the next step, reach out to our Patriot GMC team online or in person today.

And we know that you need a phenomenal pickup. That's why we're so proud to offer the GMC Sierra 1500 for sale at our dealership. GMC designed this truck with the movers and shakers of the world in mind, and we think you'll breathe a little easier when that major contract comes through, when you know you have the GMC Sierra 1500 by your side. In this blog, we'll cover the utility features that will make all the difference when duty calls. more 12 Tie-Downs for Securing Your…Everything Plan on taking advantage of the Sierra's big bed? You'll want a way to secure your items in place. Whether you transport tons of toolboxes, stacks of wood, concrete blocks, or large appliances, you want to hit the road knowing they'll stay in place. You can't afford to have any items fly off your pickup while you're in transit. Airborne items can cause accidents, and even trigger traffic moving violations. Plus, your cargo is probably pricey, and someone is likely waiting for it. So keep it safe with the Sierra 1500's 12 standard cargo tie downs. They give you plenty of attachment points for strapping down your cargo, easily accommodating items that are large, bulky and just plain awkwardly shaped. A Durable Bed Ready for Any Type of Payload While some drivers might be transporting soft items like mattresses and moving blankets, that's not the case for all. If you transport items with sharp corners and abrasive materials, it won't be long until your bed looks pretty scratched up. Luckily, the 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 has a couple of durable bed options designed to survive heavy use. The standard bed has a spray-on bedliner. It's a paint-like protective coating that's abrasion- and impact-resistant, and it spares you from having to buy a separate liner. If you are worried about damaging your bed and want the best protection, you can spring for the Denali trim and get the CarbonPro composite bed. It boasts a carbon fiber composite material that offers superior defenses against corrosion, scratches and dents. It can even prevent weather damage, so if you forget to cover your bed before a snowfall or rain storm, you won't return to a deeply weathered-looking bed. Plus, it has indentations for dirt and street bike tires, making it ready for adventures, too. You might like knowing that GMC put this bed through some serious testing, too, dropping materials ranging from hundreds to thousands of pounds onto it, as well as exposing it to extreme temperatures and other elements. The point is that it can handle whatever you (literally) throw at it. The ProGrade Trailering System If you need to tow vessels on a regular basis, you'll appreciate the ProGrade Trailering system. It's a suite of features, designed to help you monitor and command your vessels better. Let's go over what you can expect from this awesome system. Custom profiles Do you drag different vessels from one day to the next? You can create profiles for them all, listing their trailer type, hitch type, and name so you can easily switch from one to the next. Pre-Departure Checklists Whether you're new to trailering or just enjoy refreshers, these checklists walk you through attaching your trailer to your truck, ensuring all systems are a go before you go. Trailer Load Calculator Avoid hefty fines at weight stations and check your load before you travel, using the handy trailer load calculator. Maintenance Reminders Every vehicle needs regular maintenance, but when your work truck has troubles, you pay a big price—like disappointed clients and frustrated collaborators. So, stay ahead of issues by taking advantage of the maintenance reminders. Trailer Health Alerts The system will notify you if there's an issue with your trailer, such as low tire pressure, so you can fix a small problem before it becomes a big one. Trailer Light Test Making sure your external trailer lights work is an important part of communicating with other drivers on the road. This test will run through a series of tests for you, so you don't need to grab a helper to spot you. Camera Views as Far as the Eye Can See Keeping an eye on a big truck is one challenge; keeping an eye on a trailer is another. Together, you simply have a lot to monitor. Let the extensive camera system of the GMC Sierra 1500 help with that. Some notable camera views include: Transparent Trailer View - See through your trailer for a seamless view of what's behind it. Inside Trailer View - Keep an eye on the contents of your trailer. This helpful view shows you inside your vessel. Rear Trailer View with Trailer Angle Indicator - Know what direction your trailer is headed based on your steering inputs. Surround View - Get a look around your truck and trailer. Bed View with Zoom and Hitch Guidance - Check on your bed's contents, as well as get additional help hitching your bed to a trailer. Hitch View - Get a close look at your hitch when attaching it to your trailer. We'd love to show you the many other camera views and their perks when you visit us in person. The MultiPro Tailgate for Multitasking Pros We can't talk about the Sierra 1500's utility perks without discussing the MultiPro Tailgate, a six-function tailgate ready for a variety of jobs. Here are the basics of this gate: it has a primary gate, and inside of that, is a smaller, inner gate. You can raise and lower each of these gates, separate from one another, to create a variety of positions. Turn it into an entry step for easy access to the bed or an extender for longer items. Lower both for closer access to the bed's contents. Create two tiers of load stops or a work surface for filling out invoices and reviewing blueprints. You'll love all the things you can do with this versatile tailgate. Elevated Above Expectations: The 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation

Many think of the GMC Sierra 1500 as the refined version of its close sibling, the Chevy Silverado. GMC vehicles indeed have the performance and prowess of Chevy with the refinement of Cadillac and Buick, but there's so much more to them than just that. The 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 is a highly adaptable vehicle that can facilitate everything from off-roading to occupational tasks. It comes in multiple trims that cater to a wide range of drivers, and the Elevation is the topic of today's discussion. The Elevation combines the traits many tradespeople enjoy with plenty of items to enhance comfort and sophistication. If a GMC Sierra 1500 for sale has been on your wish list, it might be time to consider what the Elevation trim can provide you. more Choosing the Right Cab Configuration The first step in getting the most out of a Sierra 1500 is choosing the right cab and bed configuration. Whether you plan on utilizing the Elevation for workplace obligations or having passengers come with you, the right setup makes all the difference in the world. The Elevation has two different cab and bed configurations. Double Cab Some consider the double cab the most versatile of the three cab designs as it combines the best attributes of the regular and crew cabs. Drivers who need additional passenger space have seating for six and a standard bed to facilitate storage. Crew Cab When passenger space takes precedence over storage, the Sierra 1500's crew cab is your ideal choice. Like the double cab, the crew cab can seat six, but larger rear doors make for easier entry and exit. The crew cab can be outfitted with a standard or 69.9-inch short bed. Three Powertrains for the Best Performance Many truck owners will attest that the most important part of their vehicle is the powertrain. Whether you're an economically-minded driver, someone who does a fair amount of towing, or favors performance above all else, having the right engine allows you to accomplish any task. The Elevation trim has three options, all of which lend to the exceptional performance GMC has always been known for. TurboMax 2.7L Four-Cylinder The standard engine for the Elevation trim is a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that GM recently rechristened the "TurboMax." The highly capable four-cylinder engine produces 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque and pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The TurboMax offers decent fuel economy, with 18 MPG in the city and 21 MPG on the highway. When properly equipped, the TurboMax can tow up to 9,500 lbs, making it ideal for recreational and occupational use. 5.3L EcoTec V8 The sole V8 available on the Elevation, the 5.3L EcoTec V8, delivers uncompromising power: 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. The V8 is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission for exceptional performance on and off the road. With an 11,200-lb towing capacity, the 5.3L V8 is ideal for tradespeople. 3.0L Duramax Turbo Diesel GM has played a major role in revitalizing the diesel powertrain, and the six-cylinder Duramax is one of this movement's finest offerings. Producing 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque, the Duramax pairs with a ten-speed automatic transmission and provides exceptional fuel economy and towing capability. The Duramax allows drivers to achieve 23 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway, and the EPA estimates it can travel up to 624 miles on a full tank. When properly equipped, the Duramax also possesses the highest tow rating of all three powertrains at 13,200 lbs. Staying Connected When You're on the Road The high levels of performance and capability of the Elevation trim are certainly exceptional, and the tech-savvy items that grace the interior enhance the appeal of GMC's flagship product. The Elevation trim comes standard with one of its class's most advanced infotainment setups. Anchoring the interior is a 13.4-inch infotainment screen that provides drivers with connectivity to Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and the ability to stream audio via BlueTooth. For 2025, GMC's infotainment system also has Google built-in, allowing drivers to access maps, music, and much more. The Elevation trim offers capability with a wi-fi hotspot and multiple USB ports, allowing you to bring multiple devices on the road. The Elevation trim also comes standard with a six-speaker stereo system to fully enjoy the audio generated through the infotainment screen. Whether you're on the job site, exploring the wilderness, or hitting the highway on a road trip, this trim ensures you have the tools necessary to stay connected no matter where you're headed. Available Packages for the Elevation Trim If you want to get the most out of the Elevation trim, GMC offers multiple packages to make the Sierra 1500 more in line with what you're looking for in a truck. The Elevation already comes in multiple cab and powertrain configurations, but these options give you more of what you want. These can be selected at the time of purchase. Sierra Safety Plus Package The Elevation has multiple standard safety features, such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision alert, and following distance indication. The Safety Plus package builds on these items and is ideal for those prioritizing safety. The package includes front and rear park assist, HD surround vision, rear pedestrian alert, trailer side blind zone alert, and rear cross-traffic braking. Preferred Package The preferred package includes multiple items that enhance convenience and technology. Those who tow regularly will enjoy the hitch guidance and in-vehicle trailering app, which provide exceptional oversight when a payload is in tow. Adaptive cruise control is also included, which can be crucial in assisting you in maintaining a safe distance from other drivers when you're on the highway. Max Trailering Package This is what you need to unlock the maximum towing power of the Elevation. The max trailering package turns the Sierra 1500 into a lean, mean towing machine. The Elevation is equipped with a more prominent rear axle, a better suspension, heavier rear springs, and an enhanced cooling radiator to help relieve some of the stress on the engine. Elevate Yourself Above The Rest The GMC Sierra 1500 has always been in a class all its own regarding its rich combination of performance and posh, and the Elevation trim merges the world of style and substance to make for a truly exceptional truck. Chrome details and decorations make the interior pop and come alive, with all sorts of stylish touches for added sophistication to create a comfortable space you'll look forward to. Impressive Interior Tech Features Good looks aren't the only thing you'll find inside the 2025 Terrain—GMC has also loaded the interior with a fantastic selection of advanced technology features. Up front, you can't miss the stunning 15-inch Premium GMC Infotainment display, joined by an 11-inch Driver Information Center, to provide you with the information you need while driving. You can view up to three apps simultaneously on the Infotainment screen, letting you make the most of the software provided and enhancing your time on the road. This makes it easy to reply to text messages, follow navigation through Google Maps, and use other apps to listen to music. Beyond these impressive features, a number of great tech systems are available for the GMC Terrain Elevation. For example, up to eight camera views are available for the all-new Terrain, including an optional rear camera mirror, which marks the first time this tech has been offered on this model. You can get an HD Surround Vision camera system that utilizes these different cameras to give you a 360-degree virtual view around your vehicle while maneuvering at low speeds, Rainsense wipers that come on automatically, and an AutoSense power liftgate that opens automatically when you approach with the key fob. All of this and more lets you get the most from your daily routine. Advanced Safety to Protect You We mentioned some of the impressive safety tech that's available for the 2025 GMC Terrain a moment ago, but there's so much going on that we need to give it all some special attention. The highlight is that every model comes with more safety and driver assistance technology than ever before, with amazing standard features to protect you on the road. These include Enhanced Automatic Emergency Braking to help you avoid a collision, Front Pedestrian and Bicyclist Braking to keep others safe, and Intersection Automatic Emergency Braking. You also get Rear Cross Traffic Braking that can detect when someone is about to cross behind your vehicle while you're in reverse and stop the 2025 Terrain from striking them. Reverse Automatic Braking helps you avoid colliding with obstacles you can't see while you're backing up, plus you get a Side Bicyclist Alert to warn you when someone on a bike is riding alongside your vehicle. Blind Zone Steering Assist is also included to not just alert you to the presence of a vehicle in your blind spot but also prevent you from changing lanes into them. The 2026 GMC Terrain AT4 Although the 2025 Terrain launches with only the Elevation model available, GMC is planning to release the 2026 AT4 and Denali trims in the same year, which could well be worth the wait. If you're interested in heading off-road in your compact SUV or you enjoy an adventurous outdoor lifestyle, then the Terrain AT4 model is one to check out. We didn't mention this sooner, but the 2025 Terrain Elevation model comes with all-wheel drive (AWD) available, making it a great choice for dealing with rough weather and dirt roads. The AT4 model takes things further, however, with both AWD and Hill Descent Control coming standard to assist with going down hills and steep terrain. A selectable Terrain Mode is exclusive for the AT4 model, which is perfect for going off-road or driving on dirt and gravel; plus, it features a lifted ride height for better clearance out on the trail. The AT4 also has metal underbody protection shields, 17-inch all-terrain tires for optimal traction when you're not on pavement, and red recovery hooks up front. Animated headlamps and taillamps round out some of the impressive features of the AT4 to create the most capable GMC Terrain ever and the perfect choice for outdoor enthusiasts. The 2026 GMC Terrain Denali If you're more interested in refined luxury and sophistication in your SUV rather than going off-road, then the 2026 Terrain Denali model could be worth considering. For many years now, Denali has marked the peak of refinement and advanced tech features for GMC, so it's no surprise to see that continue. The Denali will include front and rear heated seats to ensure everyone is comfortable in cold winter weather—not something we worry about too much around here, but perfect for road trips to see family elsewhere around the holidays. You'll also find animated headlamps and taillamps on the Denali, 19-inch wheels standard with 20-inch wheels available, and unique Smart Frequency Dampers on the suspension for incredible ride comfort and quality. This model also comes standard with AWD and Hill Descent Control, ensuring that you have a great time on the road every moment you're behind the wheel. Find the GMC Terrain You've Been Looking For As you can see, there's a lot to love about the 2025 GMC Terrain, along with the two additional trims that will join the Elevation for the 2026 model year. If you're anything like us and you can't wait for what the 2026 models will bring, then you'll be well rewarded by the 2025 Terrain with its improved design, upgraded technology, safety features, and gorgeous styling that it brings to the road. Having only one trim level to choose from makes things simple since you don't have to pick between them; once the other two are added, however, the right model should still be an easy pick since each one has its own focus and distinct elements. That said, since there are plenty of available options and packages being offered for the 2025 Terrain, you'll still have some important decisions to make about what you want from your SUV. But you can rest assured that the Terrain could be the perfect choice for your daily drive.

Year after year, drivers trust the Sierra 1500 to haul, tow, stow, and drive over long miles on and off the road. Of course, it’s also important to be a smart shopper when looking for any used vehicle. You’ve got to be aware of what years offer which features and which is the best fit for your particular needs. Take a look at some of our favorite recently used GMC Sierra 1500 models to see which has all the right stuff for you. The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500: A Model With Many Firsts The 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 is a particularly sought-after model because of all of the fantastic features, options, and variety offered in that model year. This was the year the world’s first MultiPro Tailgate was introduced as standard on the Sierra 1500 SLT, AT4, and Denali models. While traditional tailgates were still stuck in the “up” or “down” position in 2019, the GMC MultiPro Tailgate debuted with six various functions that allow greater ease when using the truck’s bed. The primary tailgate opening function can be engaged with the key fob, inside the truck, or via a button on the actual gate, allowing for hands-free convenience before you even get out at your arrival point. The inner gate can also be folded into a large-capacity step, work surface, or load stop for gear stashed on the second tier of the box, or it can be folded further down to allow a better reach into the back of the truck bed. The Sierra 1500 AT4 also made its grand entrance to the world of off-roading in 2019. This trim makes the GMC Sierra 1500 even more adept at climbing through challenging terrain with a factory 2-inch suspension lift, standard four-wheel drive, and off-road-tuned Rancho monotube shock absorbers. A 2-speed Autotrac transfer case, automatic locking rear differentials, skid plates, and signature red recovery hooks round out the AT4’s “ready to rock” attitude. Besides the AT4 model, the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 can be found in Sierra (base), SLE, Elevation, SLT, and Denali trims. The base model comes very well equipped with necessities like LED head and tail lamps, 12 fixed cargo tie-downs in the bed, and an infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, operated via a 7-inch touchscreen. Regular, Double, and Crew cab configurations are offered throughout the lineup. When searching for a 2019 Sierra 1500, you’ll find very distinct engine options. The first is a 2.7L turbocharged engine that was newly engineered for 2019. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, this engine is good for 310 hp and 348 lb-ft of torque. This engine is the standard choice for SLE and Elevation models. 2019 SLT, AT4, and Denali models are equipped with a 5.3L V8 that takes things up more than a few notches with 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. But, for those who require even more thrills from their truck, the all-new-for-2019 6.2L V8 could be optioned into the SLT, AT4, and Denali models, bringing with it 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. 2019 may have been more than a few years ago, but for those looking for a truck that can support a high-action lifestyle, this is one of the most-praised used GMC Sierra 1500 models. Introducing Diesel: Meet the 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 Coming off the fantastic 2019 model year, GMC really didn’t have to change anything with the 2020 Sierra 1500… but they did. In fact, a few very important features designed specifically for those who use their trucks for work made their first appearance in the 2020 Sierra 1500 lineup. The first of these important upgrades is the 3.0L Duramax diesel engine. Joining the lineup for 2020, this diesel engine provides a cool, calm 277 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque, allowing for towing figures up to 9,100 lbs. It’s also responsible for the Sierra 1500’s 30-mile-per-gallon fuel economy rating, which can be achieved on the highway in two-wheel-drive models. GMC also took this opportunity to review and redesign the Sierra’s ProGrade Trailering System. While working on refreshing the Sierra heavy-duty series trucks and their trailering technology, GMC also applied their newly-created gear to the Sierra 1500 trucks. In total, the 2020 Sierra 1500 can display images from up to 15 different camera angles. This allows drivers to see in and around the trailer and hitch for ultimate safety when maneuvering around the job site or on the road. Starting with the 2020 model year, the Transparent Trailer View provides a virtual view “through” the trailer to give you a picture of what’s happening behind and around the trailer. Ultimately, the 2020 Sierra 1500 continued in the successful path blazed by the 2019 model, adding a few touches here and there that make this model even more helpful than the prior year's model. More Power, More Options: The 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 While the trims and engine options didn’t change for 2021, its capability did. First, the Sierra 1500’s trailering capability increased. 2021 trucks equipped with the 2.7L turbocharged gasoline and 3.0L turbodiesel engines saw a dramatic increase in towing maximums. While the 6.2L V8 tops out the Sierra 1500’s towing power with a trailering max of 11,800, the 2.7L engine bumped up the power to tow 9,200 lbs, while the turbodiesel could now take on 9,200 lbs. GMC also continued improving the Sierra 1500’s trailering camera technology, adding a Trailer Length Indicator, a Rear Trailer View with improved guidelines and a Trailer-Angle Indicator, and a Jack-Knife Alert—all of which help drivers navigate through tight situations like work sites, parking lots, gas stations, and narrow city streets. Furthermore, the X31 Off-Road and Protection Package debuted in 2021, providing SLE, Elevation, and SLT trims with more control where the pavement ends with features like Hill Descent Control, skid plates, and an off-road-tuned suspension.
